Testimony

Don't we all crave the mind-blowing surpises, discoveries and epiphanies of our childhood? Our environment was new to us, experience was fresh and everything was worthy to be explored. The Drift-Walk project Julie Lebel created, provides a great outline and opportunity to experience that fresh, curious child-like mind again. I can highly recommend strolling through the woods with her booklet and becoming a sensitized observer of mind-blowing nature and oneself acting in and with it.

Drift-Walks Smithers

The first Drift-Walk in Smithers will be April 26, 2008.

Drift-walks are a tool for relating associations of the body to nature. I am excited to offer this Drift-Walk workshop in Smithers because lots of people here enjoy getting exercise outdoors. This is an invitation to take something we do daily (walk) and practice physical awareness at the same time. By taking a simple walk but taking the time to pay attention to details and how the details affect your experience of walking, a person discovers new relationships between their body and the outside world. To a dancer: this is a dance. And, everyone can do it.

I hope everyone will come out and play and explore! If you want more information please contact me at: driftwalkSmithers@gmail.com
